Manufacturing - Design Engineer

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Design Engineer provides engineering support in the supply of custom assemblies, components, and specialized machinery. This entry-level position collaborates with other team members to design, produce, and execute designs for fabrication.

TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Develops, maintains, and implements design drawings, installation drawings, and detail drawings.
• Oversees new product development and testing based on customer specifications.
• Coordinates shop drawings, reviews submittals, and oversees job costs for a project.
• Conducts work in the field: obtains measurements, oversees product installation, and partners with clients to ensure project success
• Abides by all company and safety guidelines and policies
• Other duties and responsibilities as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:

• 2 years’ experience with advanced mechanical design, including experience in metal forming, machining, and fabrication
• 2 years’ experience with AutoCAD Mechanical 2D; experience with AutoCAD 3D Inventor a plus
• Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Access, Excel)
• Understanding of drafting techniques
• Ability to prioritize and balance multiple projects and coordinate project timelines to ensure on-time completion

WORK ENVIRONMENT AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

• Ability to travel both domestically and internationally (approximately 25%)
• Ability to work in extreme heat, confined spaces, extreme heights, utilizing multiple flights of stairs
• Ability to work long hours, including night shifts and weekends
• Loud, dusty shop environment
